Choosing The Right Beeswax Candle - Votives

Available in a variety of colors, our clean burning beeswax votive candles are the perfect choice for weddings and special events! Simple yet elegant, votive candles require very little assistance when burned properly.

Like tea lights, votives are meant to liquefy as they burn. Just as a tea light fits snug inside its holder, a votive candle should do the same. While there are many styles of glass holders available, if the holder is too large the candle won't burn properly and you'll end up with leftover wax.

Using a utility lighter, light the votive at the base of the wick to get a small wax pool started.  When the candle is first lit, it may take some time before the wax begins to melt and fill the bottom of the holder.  As the wax begins to trickle down the sides of the candle you may notice the candle getting shorter and the wick getting longer. If this happens the flame will start to flicker because the wick has become too long. When this occurs it is important to extinguish the candle, trim the wick to 1/4" and relight the candle if desired.

Votives can be burned entirely on one occasion or re-lit several times.  Our beeswax votives burn beautifully for about 8 hours each, and when combined with our wick dippers and wick trimmers, they are very easy to maintain.

Things To Remember

*  Choose a glass votive holder that is just slightly larger than your candle

*  Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" at all times

*  Use a wick dipper to extinguish candles and a wick trimmer to keep the wick at 1/4"

*  Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets, and NEVER leave a burning candle unattended

*  Enjoy!
